Hey There!

Let's see..... What, what might you want to know about me? I've always found it strange to describe myself, as I suppose just about everyone does. Nonetheless, here it goes...

For starters, I am first and foremost a daughter of Christ. Jesus is my Savior and Redeemer without Whom I am utterly lost. He loves me, and I love Him (though, often I so very poorly display that fact). He is the reason for this blog. He is the reason I think and feel the way that I do, and He is; therefore, the reason I write.

I hope to make a difference in this world, and I've come to realize rather recently that the only way to do such a thing is through spreading truth, love, and joy to others. One can only do that by knowing Where those things come from and having them for oneself. Thankfully, my friends, I can most definitively say that I do.

A few more "hard and fast" facts on me: I graduated in May of 2014 with a B.A. in Musical

Theatre from Anderson University. I have always had a passion for the performing arts. I have

been taking voice lessons since the sixth grade. Classically training my voice for both opera and

musical theatre style singing, as well as jazz, has been such a grand learning experience for me.

It has taught me a lot about hard work and what it means to stick with something. (I just wish I

could manage to apply that to every area of my life, haha). I found my love for dance in tenth

grade, and theatre in eleventh. I have been at all three together ever since.

As far as likes, I enjoy critically viewing movies, painting, poetry, the beach, Teenage Mutant

Ninja Turtles, eating strawberry frozen yogurt covered in peanut butter (well, eating just about

anything covered in peanut butter...), reading books that grow my perspective and

understanding of my faith, listening to ethnic music, and learning about foreign cultures and

traditions. One day I want to travel the world to see all kinds of places....Ireland, India, Brazil,

Japan, New Zealand, and many more. In fact, I am traveling to Alaska right now as I write this

blog post to all you lovely readers. Off to do some mission work in the lovely village of Chevak

with a group of teens and adults from my church, which is also something I really enjoy doing!

Hmm, in the case of my dislikes....I dislike the way people ask you how you're doing when they

really don't care to know. I'm not a huge fan of chick‐flicks, with a small handful of exceptions, of course. I don't like the sound of metal scraping against paper, or the look of modern art and decor. And onions. I really don't like onions. Or burpees. Nope. Definitely don't like those.

But enough about me! How about I clue you in to what this blog is all about? I mean, why

should you care about my opinions on anything? Well, to be brutally frank, you don't have to.

You see, I'm actually not overly educated and I don't have multiple degrees in all sorts of

obscure particulars (as if you couldn't already gather that from this post so far, ha). I'm average

at a lot of things, good at very few, and an expert at none. One might say I'm witty, but

certainly no double‐edged sword. Heck, I'm not even a professional writer. I'm just a regular

girl who thinks quite a lot, and feels a connection to others by sharing those thoughts.

Honestly, this blog is a bit of a personal project for me...with the simple purpose of sharing my

raw, unedited thoughts on all sorts of topics, questions, issues, etc...dealing with life, faith, and

all the craziness that comes with it. Then, I'll just sit back and see where it takes me.

Some posts will be deep and thoughtful, some may seem random and ridiculous, or just plain funny.

But no matter what sort of creative whims come my way, I hope to make the presentation of my opinions as informed and well‐thought‐out as possible; and, even if you don't agree, I hope they will at least be entertaining and thought‐provoking reads on your end.

Perhaps, with any luck, you'll even come across some inspiration of your own somewhere along

the way. And even just for that, all my endeavors here would be worth it.

In short, if that's even possible to say at this point, (nah, you're right. I'm kidding myself) Thinking Out Loud is a place of peaceful perspective, and I hope you enjoy reading my entries as much as I know I will enjoy writing them.

Thanks for stopping by, and for making it all the way to the end of this crazy‐long thing I call an introduction. It was nice to "meet" you. Do come again! :)

Much love,

‐ Katie
